International Students
International Drivers must fulfill all the regular
requirements to become a pedicab driver plus have all the documentation
necessary for work in the United States. Please see Information
for Prospective Pedicab Drivers for more information on the
requirements, process and costs.
All
pedicab drivers are required to obtain a Pedal Cab License from
the City of Denver. This can be the most difficult step in the process
for international students.
To obtain a Pedal Cab License, the City of Denver
requires a valid Colorado Driver's License for every pedicab
applicant. An International Driver's License and/or Colorado
ID is not sufficient. There are no exceptions.
We require all prospective drivers to interview
with the manager by phone to determine interest, qualification and
fit. The single most important factor in whether or not an international
driver does well is the ability to communicate very well with passengers
in English. If you arrive in Denver expecting to ride but have not spoken with us by phone prior to your arrival,
you may be disappointed to find that all available openings have
been filled.
To reduce the number of students who express interest
but do not follow up, we ask that you confirm with us in March or
April if you are intending to drive a pedicab beginning in May or
June.
All drivers are required to sign a lease agreement
for the duration of their stay, and pay a security deposit and insurance.
Sorry, we do not offer housing. Please contact
us for more information.
